The darkness of our cell closes in,

Now there is only the pale glow of skin.

Another roar, another scream, another death!

These men were your brothers,

Sworn to fight and die in battle by your side,

Heavy worries lie on your brow, stronger than ever,

Thingol's fair daughter waits for you still,

But you my friend have lost all hope of seeing her again,

There are not many of us left now,

Soon they will come for you Beren.

In that moment I must do something,

Not so long ago I made a promise,

We of the Eldar do not break them easily,

How can you mortals stand the thought of death?

To live life knowing that it must end,

I have no such preparation,

We do not teach our children that death cometh.

Another roar, another scream, another death!

They are promised forever,

Looking into your eyes I see fear, but also strength,

Turning my face away I am glad that,

Mortal eyes cannot see in such dark,

For I know my face is etched with fear,

The cell door is slammed open,

They come for you.

Standing, shackles clanking, I summon my strength,

The chains fail halfway along their length,

Your startled face seems to look up to mine,

A glimmer of hope that is all I need to go on,

Your trust sets my plan in motion,

Not even the roars of the beast can shake my heart now,

This is something that must be done.

My legs carry me through the cell door and down the passage,

It is here I must face my destiny,

The wolf slobbers, blood dripping from its jaws,

Collecting all the strength I posses, I jump,
